Linda

For the last sixteen years I've been challenged with ovarian, even ovarian and breast cancer at the same time - five recurrences in all - but still manage to have a good life, filled with fun times and happy memories.

I'm here - I'm a survivor - and you can, too!  Everyone has to deal with their own situation, but my method is 'distraction'.  If I start to worry - I read a book or see a movie.  Afterall, if you've done all you can - good doctors and healthy lifestyle - then enjoy each day!

Kicking and screaming is only going to give you a headache - and you have to think of your family and friends, too.  If they see you being upbeat and positive, they will enjoy being around you, and life will be much happier for all.  Just because you may feel crummy doesn't mean they have to as well.  Give them a smile and a hug and suggest an outing.  Even if you don't feel like it... the amazing thing is - you'll start to feel better than you did when you were just staying home!

I'm taking a new chemo infusion drug (for me) right now - I've had many different kinds - and radiation, too.  Sometimes they work, and sometimes they don't.  I'm not sure what the next months will be - but I plop on my wig and I'm out the door anyway!

Good luck to you - sending strength and hope your way!!  Hang in there everyone!!

Patricia - Lung Cancer Survivor

In September of 2007 I was diagnosed with lung cancer and surgery was not an option for me.  The left lung was involved stage 3b since the tumor was wrapped around the pulmonary artery no surgery.  I went into aggressive radiation and chemo treatment for 35 consecutive rounds.  Since Jan 2008  I have been in remission  and  feel great.  My advice is to have faith and you will know  your battle is not without help from your angels.  Mine are still with me.
